Dr. Steve Swartz is the senior preaching pastor of Grace Bible Church in Bakersfield, California and the featured speaker on Steadfast in the Faith, a teaching ministry based in expository preaching and writing. Author of Shattered Shepherds, Steve's desire is to train men and build up churches to know and teach the Word of God and to equip the local community of believers with impact for the Gospel of Christ. He is a two-time graduate of The Master's Seminary and brings 25 years of seasoned pastoral and counseling experience to the pulpit. Steve lives in Bakersfield with his wife, and family.
Jesse Johnson was born and raised in New Mexico. During his senior year of high school, a soccer teammate of his explained the gospel of Jesus Christ to him, the first time he had ever heard this. It was there that Jesse gave his life to the Lord. After attending The Master’s Seminary, Jesse ministered as Outreach Pastor at Grace Community Church in Los Angeles, and later served as a chaplain for the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. He currently serves as the Lead Teaching Pastor of Immanuel Bible Church in Alexandria, Virginia, where he lives with his wife, Deidre, and his three daughters.
Jesse is a graduate of the University of New Mexico (Sociology/Spanish), as well as The Master’s Seminary (M. Div.; Th. M. Systematic Theology). He has edited a number of publications including Fundamentals of the Faith, co-editor of Evangelism in the John MacArthur Pastoral Library Series, and was a contributor to Men of the Word and Right Thinking in a World Gone Wrong, and Right Thinking in a Church Gone Astray.
Prior to being appointed to his full-time role with TMAI, Dr. Tatlock served as Executive Vice President and Provost of The Master’s University. Mark brings 17 years of executive administrative experience to TMAI, and has been active in theological training for cross-cultural ministry within urban and international contexts. He is eager to invest in strengthening TMAI’s development and academic divisions. As a graduate of The Master’s Seminary, he is committed to TMAI’s theological distinctives and the priority of pastoral training. Mark and his wife Lisa have five children: Jacob, Josiah, Hope, Paul, and Olivia. Care for orphans and foster children is an area of personal concern for them both, believing that God would have His people model the amazing picture of the Gospel and of His love that is found in adoption.
Joshua Kirstine is the preaching pastor at Disciples Church in Bakersfield California. Joshua has served faithfully on the pastoral staff at Disciples for 18 years and led the now 131 year old first Baptist church of Bakersfield through a complete reformation in doctrine, practice and priorities for 10 of those years. Since then God has launched the historic church into wonderful season of new birth and refined gospel impact on the Central California Valley as they are committed to fulfill the Great Commission through sound bible teaching and faithful disciple making.
Pastor Joshua and his wife of 21 years, Jennifer, have 6 children that they love and lead. Three by birth, two by adoption and one foster baby that they hope to adopt soon. Their family’s commitment to orphan care has allowed them to share the gospel and their lives with 46 foster children over the last 6 years. The Great Commission’s call to testify the gospel and raise up mature and equipped disciples unto the ends of the earth is truly Joshua’s priority and passion.
